How Much Does a Vape Vending Machine Cost?

A vape vending machine costs the price of the cabinet plus the age check, payment, landed cost and licence, and the cabinet is usually the smallest of these decisions. KioskForce’s published starting prices are USD 800–1,500 for a compact wall-mount unit, from USD 1,200 for the BG10X10 touchscreen machine, from USD 1,800 for the K180-6C locker kiosk and from USD 2,100 for the full-size KF10X22. The age gate is scoped per project. Staff release adds little hardware. An ID scanner or a link to a verification provider adds integration work and often a per-check fee from the provider. Freight, import duty and installation sit on top. Running costs are a 4G plan (typically USD 5–10 a month), processor fees, verification fees, the venue’s commission and a retailer licence: USD 450 per location per year in California. Before pricing anything, check that a vape machine is allowed at your site at all.

The cabinet of a vape vending machine is the cheapest part to estimate. KioskForce publishes starting prices from USD 800 to USD 2,100 depending on the format. The age check, payment terminal, freight, duty, installation and licence then sit on top, and the age check is scoped per project because the method and provider decide the work. This page breaks the cost into those parts and works through an illustrative payback. Before you budget anything, check that a vape vending machine is allowed at your site. In the UK from 29 October 2026, in Australia, and in US shops that admit under-21s, it is not.

Quick answer

  • Cabinet (published starting prices): compact wall-mount USD 800–1,500. BG10X10 touchscreen from USD 1,200. K180-6C locker kiosk from USD 1,800. KF10X22 full-size from USD 2,100.
  • Age gate: scoped per project. Staff release is the lightest. ID scanning and third-party verification add integration work, and the provider usually charges per check.
  • Landed cost: freight, import duty and taxes, delivery and installation come on top. Quoted EXW, FOB or CIF.
  • Running costs: 4G data (typically USD 5–10 a month), processor fees, verification fees, venue commission, restocking and a retailer licence (California: USD 450 per location per year).
  • Payback: decided by lawful sales per week. See the illustrative example below.

Cabinet prices

These are the indicative starting prices already published on our product pages and the vending machine cost page. They are starting points for standard platforms, not list prices for a finished vape machine.

Format Published starting price (USD) What you get When it fits a vape project
Compact wall-mount 800–1,500 6 to 30+ coil selections. Screen optional (7” to 32”). Free vend, QR, SMS code or MDB cashless Bars and clubs with wall space and modest volume. See wall-mounted vape vending machines
BG10X10 from 1,200 Floor-standing coil machine with 10-inch sidecar touchscreen. QR, MDB cashless and cash Higher volume and a wider range
K180-6C locker kiosk from 1,800 21.5-inch touchscreen with six locker cells. More lockers can be connected Boxed devices and higher-value kits
KF10X22 from 2,100 Full-size machine with 22-inch screen and room behind it for card readers and custom hardware Large venues, or where an ID reader and a card terminal both need space

What moves the cabinet price: the number of selections, coils versus locker cells, screen size, refrigeration (rarely needed for vapes), payment and access hardware, custom enclosure and branding, and quantity. Modified standard models can be ordered singly. Fully custom designs typically start at about 10 units.

What the age check adds

The age gate is a software and hardware design, not a single option with a price. What it costs depends on which method your regulator accepts. The full comparison is on the age-verified vending hub.

Method One-off cost drivers Ongoing cost drivers
Staff release An attendant control or relay release, and its cabling or wireless link to the bar Staff time per vend
Pre-verified account (card, PIN, membership QR) Card or QR reader. Integration with your membership database if the machine queries it Enrolment checks done by people
Off-machine verification (phone, code or token) Integration with the verification provider’s API Provider’s fee, often per verification
ID document scan Document reader in the cabinet. Integration with an authentication service if the document must be authenticated, not just read Service fee per check. Reader maintenance

Two points shape this budget:

  • Reading is not authenticating. Pulling a date of birth from a licence barcode is cheap. Establishing that the document is genuine and belongs to the person holding it needs a verification service, and that service sets its own price and accuracy claims. We integrate the service you nominate. Vending machines that scan ID explains the difference.
  • A scanner may not buy you what you think. In the US the federal exception for vending is tied to an adult-only facility, not to a machine that checks ID (21 CFR 1140.14(b)(3)). In an adult-only venue, a scanner is a second check. It does not turn an all-ages shop into a lawful site. Do not pay for a scanner on the assumption that it does. Payment terminal and fees

Two routes, both covered on payments:

  • An MDB cashless terminal. Nayax, Cantaloupe, Vending on Track VendCoin or another device you nominate. If you already have a processor relationship, keep it. The terminal’s hardware cost and the processor’s transaction fees come from that processor, not from us. Confirm before ordering that the processor will acquire vape transactions in your market.
  • Native QR payment on the machine screen, with no additional reader. Useful where QR wallets are the main payment method.

Whichever you fit, the machine writes its own order record (item, quantity, machine, location, time, order state and receipt ID). Your sales report then shows which product sold on each card transaction, not just the amount.

Landed cost: what sits on top of the machine price

  • Freight and insurance. We quote EXW, FOB or CIF, and the Incoterm decides which of these are in our price.
  • Import clearance, duty and taxes. These depend on your country and the tariff classification. We don’t quote duty rates. A licensed customs broker in your country can estimate them from the HS code, crated dimensions and values we provide.
  • Delivery to site, unloading and positioning. A floor-standing machine is heavy. Plan how it comes off the truck and through the venue.
  • Installation. Optional. In some regions a local distributor provides it. Otherwise your own team or contractor does it, with remote guidance from us. A wall-mount unit needs a wall that can carry it. See wall-mounted vape vending machines.

The full breakdown by Incoterm is in shipping, Incoterms and landed cost.

Licences and compliance costs

These are easy to leave out, and they recur:

  • Retailer licence. Most US states licence tobacco retailers per location. In California each retail location needs its own licence, valid for 12 months and renewed annually. For applications and renewals filed from 1 July 2026 the fee is USD 450 per location (Bus. & Prof. Code §§ 22972, 22973). Cities and counties may add their own licence.
  • Legal review. Have counsel confirm the site, the age check and the signage before you order. That fee is small next to a machine you cannot operate.
  • Point-of-sale notices and signage required in your jurisdiction.
  • Lawful stock. In the US only FDA-authorised e-cigarettes may be lawfully sold. FDA’s list, current as of 28 August 2026, contained 48 products. That limits both your range and your supplier choice.

An illustrative payback

Every number in this table is an assumption for illustration, not a measured result or a forecast. Replace each one with your own.

Assumptions: all-in cost of USD 5,000 per machine (cabinet, age-gate integration, terminal, freight, duty, installation). Average selling price USD 25. Product cost USD 14. Venue commission 15% of sales. Processor fees 5% of sales. Verification fee USD 0.50 per sale. That leaves about USD 5.50 net per unit. Fixed costs are about USD 147.50 a month: USD 10 data, USD 37.50 licence (USD 450 a year) and USD 100 restocking.

Lawful sales per week Units per month Net contribution per month Months to recover USD 5,000
10 43 about USD 91 about 55
20 87 about USD 329 about 15
40 173 about USD 806 about 6

What the table shows is that volume decides everything. Below about 10 units a week, the fixed costs swallow the margin. A locked cabinet behind the bar is cheaper. The example includes no allowance for fines, lost licences or seized stock, which is why the legal check comes first. Do vape vending machines make money? goes further into margin and venue economics.

Vape vending machines for sale: what to specify if you are buying one

We do not keep vape vending machines for sale from stock; each one is quoted from your site and age-check method. A quotation needs:

  1. The site and its legal basis. Jurisdiction, venue type and licence, and the rule your regulator or counsel has confirmed. See are vape vending machines legal?
  2. The age-check method and the verification provider or membership system, with its API documentation.
  3. The product list and pack dimensions, so coils or locker cells can be sized.
  4. Payment. Your processor and terminal model, or QR.
  5. Records, retention, per-transaction limits and failure behaviour. Our machines refuse the vend if an external verification service cannot be reached.
  6. Quantity and destination, so we can quote the Incoterm and lead time. Modified standard builds take 4–6 weeks. Custom designs take 8–12 weeks, plus shipping.

KioskForce designs the hardware and software in-house, builds in partner factories and sells direct and, in some regions, through local distributors. We build to the compliance requirement you state and write it on the quotation. We do not certify compliance with any age-restriction law. Contact us with the details above, or see vape vending machines: how they work first.

Where spending money on a vape vending machine is the wrong call

  • The site does not qualify. UK from 29 October 2026 for customer-operated machines, Australia, US states or localities with outright bans, and any US premises that admits under-21s.
  • You cannot source lawful product, or the margin on lawful product is too thin to carry the fixed costs.
  • Volume is low. At a few sales a week, the illustrative payback runs to years.
  • The quote is cheap because the age gate is not configurable. You will pay later in rework or in a machine you cannot deploy.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a vape vending machine?

The cabinet is the starting point. KioskForce’s published starting prices are USD 800 to 1,500 for a compact wall-mount unit, from USD 1,200 for the BG10X10 touchscreen coil machine, from USD 1,800 for the K180-6C locker kiosk and from USD 2,100 for the full-size KF10X22. The age-check integration is scoped separately because it depends on the method and provider. A card terminal, freight, import duty, installation and the first load of stock are also extra. Your quotation is built from your specification.

How much does age verification add to a vending machine?

It depends on the method. Staff release needs an attendant control and little else. A pre-verified account needs a card, PIN or QR reader and a link to your membership system. Off-machine verification needs an integration with the provider that issues the code. An ID document scan needs a reader in the cabinet and, if the document must be authenticated rather than just read, a verification service that usually charges per check. We scope the integration per project and do not publish a single figure, because the provider and the rule decide the work.

What are the running costs of a vape vending machine?

A 4G data plan typically costs USD 5 to 10 per month per machine. Card payments carry your processor’s fees, and any external verification service may charge per check. Add the venue’s commission if you do not own the site, restocking labour and the retailer licence. In California that is USD 450 per retail location per year for applications filed from 1 July 2026. The Vending on Track cloud dashboard is included with KioskForce machines rather than sold as a separate subscription tier.

Where can I buy a vape vending machine?

KioskForce builds age-verified vending machines to order and sells direct and, in some regions, through local distributors. Standard models can be ordered as a single unit and take 4 to 6 weeks to build when modified. Fully custom designs typically start at about 10 units and take 8 to 12 weeks, plus shipping. Before buying from anyone, confirm with your regulator that a vape vending machine is allowed at your site, because a machine you cannot lawfully operate is worth nothing.

How long does a vape vending machine take to pay back?

It depends almost entirely on units sold per week at a lawful, adult-only site. In our illustrative example, with an assumed all-in cost of USD 5,000 and about USD 5.50 net per unit after product cost, commission, processor and verification fees, payback is roughly 6 months at 40 units a week, 15 months at 20 and more than 4 years at 10. Those are assumptions, not results. Replace them with your own product margin, commission and venue footfall.

Is a cheap vape vending machine for sale online a good buy?

Ask what it does when the age check fails or cannot be made, what it records for each check, and whether the sales report shows the product sold on a card transaction or only the amount. A low price often means a machine with no record of its own and an age check you cannot configure. Also ask whether the seller claims the machine is compliant with your law. No manufacturer can honestly certify that, because the rule is set where the machine stands. The answer to that question tells you a lot about the seller.

Is import duty included in the price of a vape vending machine?

No. KioskForce quotes EXW, FOB or CIF, and the Incoterm decides which freight costs are in the quoted price. Import clearance, duty and import taxes depend on your country and the tariff classification. We provide the HS code, crated dimensions and values so a licensed customs broker in your country can estimate them. Delivery to site, unloading and installation are also outside the machine price. On-site installation is optional and, in some regions, provided through a local distributor.
