Public health programs demand a different kind of vending machine — one that is compact enough for restrooms and community spaces, secure enough to prevent abuse, and smart enough to capture usage data while protecting user privacy. KioskForce has manufactured and delivered custom wall-mount vending machines for some of Australia’s largest public health initiatives.
What We Dispense
Our compact vending machines are configured for a wide range of health products:
| Category | Products | Typical Coil Setup |
|---|---|---|
| HIV self-test kits | Atomo finger-prick rapid tests (15-min results) | 50-70mm coils, single-unit dispensing |
| Opioid overdose reversal | Naloxone (Nyxoid® nasal spray, Prenoxad® injection) | 60-80mm coils, controlled dispensing |
| Rapid antigen tests | COVID-19 RAT kits, influenza test kits | 60-80mm coils, boxed kits |
| Breath tests | Alcohol breathalyser tubes, drug test kits | 40-60mm coils |
| Sexual health | Condoms (individual foil packets, multi-packs), lubricant sachets | 50-55mm coils (singles), 60-80mm coils (multi-packs) |
| Feminine hygiene | Pads, tampons, pantyliners | 50-70mm coils (singles), 70-90mm coils (multi-packs) |
Harm Reduction & Overdose Prevention
Governments are actively procuring vending machines for harm reduction. In May 2025, the Victorian Department of Health issued a formal Request for Tender (C13890) for 20 naloxone dispensing machines to be deployed at Needle and Syringe Programs (NSPs) across Melbourne and regional Victoria — as part of the state’s Take-Home Naloxone Program aimed at reducing opioid overdose deaths.
This is a growing segment. KioskForce’s public health vending platform is purpose-built for harm reduction programs:
Temperature-Controlled Storage
Naloxone products — whether Nyxoid® nasal spray or injectable formulations — require stable room-temperature storage (no freezing, not above 25°C). Our machines include thermostatic controls with optional temperature monitoring and alert systems, so program managers know immediately if storage conditions drift out of range.
Controlled Dispensing — Not Self-Selection
Harm reduction machines must dispense product without user access to inventory. Our coil-based dispensing mechanism ensures each unit is pushed to a secure delivery bin — no self-selection, no access to stock. Per-transaction limits (e.g., maximum 2 units) prevent stockpiling while allowing repeated access.
Identity-Lite Access Control
Program requirements often include age verification (e.g., confirm recipient is 12+) and eligibility checks — without collecting personally identifying information on the machine. Our system supports SMS verification, QR-code eligibility screening, or on-screen confirmation, all while preserving user privacy.
Compliance-Grade Data Collection
Government programs need usage data for evaluation and funding. Our cloud backend captures what regulators typically require:
- Units dispensed by product type, date, time, and location
- User-reported data (initial supply vs refill, previous naloxone use outcome)
- Machine compliance data (temperature logs, downtime, stock levels)
- QR-code links to optional web-based surveys for program evaluation
NSP Staff-Friendly Restocking
Designated health workers can easily restock machines, change coil configurations for different package sizes, monitor stock levels and expiry dates, and audit dispense logs — all through a staff interface that doesn’t require technical training.
Physical Security
Wall-mounted or bolted-to-concrete installation, shatter-proof touchscreen, tamper-resistant locks, weather-proof durable materials, and visual design distinct from syringe dispensing units — all configurable to program requirements.
Key Capabilities for Health Programs
Identity Verification Without Compromising Privacy
Health programs need to prevent abuse while protecting user anonymity. Our machines support multiple verification methods: SMS one-time codes, email verification, QR code scanning — all without collecting personally identifying information on the machine itself. The registration happens on a separate web portal, keeping the dispensing experience private.
Usage Quotas and Limits
Set per-user limits — such as up to 4 free test kits per month or maximum 2 naloxone units per transaction — to ensure fair distribution. The cloud backend tracks usage against quotas and prevents over-dispensing.
Real-Time Inventory Monitoring
Health programs can’t afford empty machines. Our cloud dashboard provides live stock levels, low-stock alerts, temperature monitoring, and dispense analytics so restocking teams know exactly which machine needs what — and when.
Free Vend with Data Collection
Many public health programs offer products free of charge but need usage data for reporting and funding. Our system gates free dispensing behind a lightweight questionnaire (completed on the user’s phone, not the machine screen), capturing demographic and behavioural insights while the machine stays fast and private.
Projects We’ve Supported
- HIVConnect — A federally funded Australian pilot dispensing free HIV self-test kits via vending machines across six states and territories. We manufactured the wall-mount machines; Vending on Track built the cloud platform.
- MyTest — A public health initiative deploying HIV self-test kit vending machines at 13 locations across NSW, from university campuses to community health centres. We manufactured the machines.
- Wall-Mount Sanitary Product Vending — Free feminine hygiene products dispensed from 32-inch Android touchscreen wall-mount machines, funded by on-screen advertising.
Machine Options
Our compact wall-mount vending machines are built to order — coil counts, screen sizes, payment methods, and mounting hardware are all configurable. See our compact wall-mount vending machines page for specifications, or contact us to discuss your program’s requirements.
