Description
MyTest is an initiative supported by NSW Health that provides free HIV self-test kits through vending machines deployed at 13 locations across New South Wales. Targeting communities with low or infrequent testing rates — particularly in South West and Western Sydney — the program supports the NSW HIV Strategy 2021–2025 by making testing accessible, private, and free.
KioskForce manufactured the custom wall-mount vending machines. Vending on Track — our Australian software partner — built the cloud platform that manages registration, dispensing authorisation, and inventory across all 13 sites.
How It Works
- Register — User visits the MyTest website, provides a mobile number or email, and answers a few simple questions
- Find a location — User selects from 13 vending machine locations across NSW
- Collect — User visits the machine and collects a free HIV self-test kit
- Test — In a private, safe space, the user performs the finger-prick test and reads results in 15 minutes
Each kit contains: 1 Atomo HIV self-test device, 2 condoms, 2 lubricant sachets, and an information card with a QR code linking to the MyTest website. Users can receive up to 4 free test kits per month.
Machine Locations (13 Sites)
MyTest machines are deployed across diverse venue types:
| Venue Type | Examples |
|---|---|
| University campuses | UNSW Sydney, UTS, University of Newcastle (NUspace) |
| Community health centres | Auburn Community Health Centre, Liverpool Hospital |
| Public venues | Tamworth City Library |
| Saunas and community spaces | Sydney Sauna, Aarows, Sauna X by 357, Bunker Sydney |
| Clinics | Blacktown Methadone Clinic |
This diversity of venues — from 24-hour public access to university student-only spaces — demonstrates the flexibility of wall-mount vending machines in reaching different populations where they already are.
